Knossos, Crete - PBancroft

My undergraduate degree is in Humanities, my postgraduate is in Human Resources. After spending many years working in a number of different organisations as an HR specialist, I decided to change my life's direction and fulfil two ambitions - before I was too old to enjoy them.

The first is to achieve a doctorate in Classical Studies and the second is to earn my living as a writer. It's early days yet but I am back studying the wonder that was the Roman Empire and have started to flesh out my first novel. In between I make ends meet as a freelance writer taking on strange and varied assignments.

Writing for suite101 is an important step in my new journey. Not only do I receive support and feedback for my writing, I also get to research and write about subjects that I love. Hopefully, others too will find my articles interesting and intriuging.

When I am not studying or writing, I love walking my dog, working with my horses and gardening.
